#TBT - Artist Jack Howard
A degree in architecture, a solid business foundation, and a level baseball swing - all acquired at Miami University - prepared Jack Howard for a satisfying career of civic planning, development, and involvement.
Following ten years with three architectural firms, Howard returned to his hometown for a career as City Planner and Chief Designer for the City of Middletown, Ohio during the 1980s (a 1951 Middie Graduate).
Since returning to Middletown, Howard has become a prolific local artist. Over the past five decades, Howard has created hundreds of works and he is best known for his residential drawings and leafless trees.
In addition to his art, Howard’s played a part - as administrator, president, or board member - in the success of many other civic, charitable and arts organizations including: The Middletown Fine Arts Center, The Symphony, The Chamber, The Historic Preservation Council, the Cincinnati Art Club, Executive Director of the 1991 Bicentennial, Queen City Racquet Club, Glendale Planning Commission, Middletown Friends of the Library, and Glendale Historic Commission, amongst other ventures.
