A sad day for Monkee fans: Peter Tork has died

Today Daydream Believers around the world are mourning the loss of former Monkee Peter Tork.

The singer/musician’s death was announced today, Thursday, February 21, 2019. A cause was not noted but NBC News reported that Tork had been “diagnosed with a rare form of cancer a decade ago.”

Tork, Mickey Dolenz, Mike Nesmith and the late Davy Jones became famous in their light-hearted 1960s NBC-TV comedy show, “The Monkees.” In each episode the quartet appeared in what today would be referred to as a music video.

Perhaps a rendition of “Shades of Gray,” one of their hit songs, would be an appropriate tribute to the one-and-only Peter Tork.
