Mock Newbery and Caldecott Event Held at MidPointe Library West Chester

Over 70 children's services staff from public libraries located in southwest Ohio discussed and voted on juvenile and young adult fiction, non-fiction, and picture books, in a Mock Newbery and Mock Caldecott event hosted by the West Chester MidPointe Library system on Thursday, January 25th.  The event is coordinated by Sam Bloom, a children's librarian with The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County (PLCH) and a team of staff from PLCH, MidPointe Library System, Greene County Public Libraries and The Lane Libraries.

The winner of the Mock Newbery was Felix Yz by Lisa Bunker.

The honors for the Mock Newbery went to Amina's Voice by Hena Khan; Hello, Universe by Erin Entrada Kelly; Orphan Island by Laurel Snyder; and Vincent & Theo by Deborah Heiligman

The winner of the Mock Caldecott was The Perfect Day by Lane Smith.

The honors for the Mock Caldecott went to The Book of Mistakes by Cordinna Luyken; A Different Pond by Thi Bui; A Greyhound, A Groundhog by Chris Appelhans; and Wolf in the Snow by Matthew Cordell
